computer misuse act 1990

Short for Computer Misuse Act, the CMA is a British law introduced in 1990 that makes certain types of malicious actions illegal on a computer in the UK. Examples include gaining unauthorized access to a computer or network, or modifying someone else's data without consent.

Critics of the bill have said it was not discerning enough between mischief makers and true cyber criminals.
