FAD may refer to any of the following:

1. Short for Functioning As Designed, FAD describes a process that is running properly and free of errors.

2. When describing a trending or popular product, a fad is anything that gains popularity fast and then fades away to obscurity. For example, pet rocks and fidget spinners are examples of non-computer-related fads. An example of a recent computer-related fad is NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens).
