Short for Microsoft Certified Trainer, an MCT is an individual officially authorized by Microsoft to deliver training and education on Microsoft products, technologies, and platforms. MCTs are recognized as experts by Microsoft and can provide high-quality instruction and guidance to users who seek to gain knowledge and skills related to Microsoft software and services. They are the only individuals qualified to instruct others who want to become MCPs (Microsoft Certified Professionals).

To become a Microsoft Certified Trainer, one must first acquire a Microsoft certification, and then apply to and complete the MCT program. To remain certified, an MCT must teach one official Microsoft course in the first year, provide course evaluations to all students, and keep satisfactory customer satisfaction scores.
