1. Short for System Analysis and Program, SAP (SAP SE) is a multinational company that develops enterprise software and software-related services. Since its founding in 1972 by five former IBM employees, the company focuses on providing software systems that help organizations in finance, human resources, manufacturing, and sales.

Over the years, SAP expanded its portfolio to include various software solutions, such as CRM (customer relationship management), supply chain management, business intelligence, and data analytics products. While SAP is the world's leading ERP vendor, its software is complex and requires extensive training to implement. For more information, see our SAP company information page.

2. With data processing, SAP, which is short for Systems Applications and Products, is ERP (enterprise resource planning) software created by the SAP SE corporation. As the company's flagship product, SAP integrates business processes into a unified system, thus improving efficiency and helping companies make informed decisions based on real-time data.

3. Short for service advertising protocol, servers use SAP to inform clients of availability on the network in a Novell NetWare environment. SAP messages are broadcast every 60 seconds. If an SAP packet is not received for three minutes, that server is presumed down.
