STR
STR may refer to any of the following:
1. Short for Suspend To RAM, STR is a process started when a computer enters suspend mode. Any information being utilized is stored in memory, allowing components in the computer to be turned off to conserve power. When the computer resumes activity, the stored information is returned to its original state.
2. With programming, STR may be an abbreviation for string.
3. STR is shorthand for strength, an attribute related to attack power for a game character. In MMO (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game) games, items that a character can utilize (armor and weapons) may increase the amount of strength for a character. For example, a ring that gives +5 STR to your character.
4. STR is an acronym for a string.
