universal host controller interface

Short for Universal Host Controller Interface, UHCI was developed by Intel. It is a USB (Universal Serial Bus) 1.0 and 1.1 host controller that consists of two parts, HCD (Host Controller Driver) and HC (Host Controller). The HCD software is responsible for scheduling the traffic on USB by posting and maintaining transactions in system memory. HCD is part of the system software, and provided by the operating system vendor.
