Alternatively referred to as a grafport (graphics port), a video port is a port that can be used to connect a monitor or other display, such as a TV, to a computer. Video ports for desktop computers are located on the back, while laptop computers have them on back or side.

Video port examples

The following image shows the most recent examples of video ports: USB-C, DisplayPort, and HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface). Each of these ports are capable of sending both audio and video to an external display, and are typically found on graphics cards and high-end motherboards.

The second image shows examples of video ports that are a bit older: DVI (digital visual interface), S-Video, and VGA (video graphics adapter). Although some of these ports still see use today, they are far less common and most of them do not transmit audio signals.
